Search for acne treatment and you accept bombarded with ads, reviews and comments from thousands of sites. So how does one resolve the treatment that is right for you?

What is acne? Beneath all the mumbo-gumbo, it is an infection caused by bacteria. It is a rite of passage into adolescence and practically all teenagers are afflicted by this. Changing hormones, increased gland secretion and clogging of pores by secretions, insensible skin cells make the site ideal for the bacteria to grow and thrive. As it spreads, the surrounding areas get infected and you have the beginnings of widespread affliction.

So what can one do to stop, prevent or minimize acne? Follow basic hygiene and keep your hands, face, cosmetic applicators, and towels free from contamination. Change them frequently. Sharing your makeup paraphernalia is not a satisfactory practice. It is one more source for spreading the bacteria.

Follow a simple, easy to follow routine for preventing acne. Complex routines lead to non-compliance, breakdown in treatment and major reoccurrence of acne. Withhold it simple and you will have better results. Pore cleansing and skin exfoliation is critical part of the regimen. Chemical exfoliants can lead to chemical scarring of the skin and could allow the bacteria to penetrate and cause infection. Excessive pore cleansing can also open up the deep layers allowing the bacteria to penetrate deeper into the skin and flourish.

Niapads – acne control pads is a one step process that achieves pore cleansing, mild skin exfoliation and killing the bacteria in one step. A gentle exfoliating pad scrubs away the dirt, oil and grime. Mild skin friendly surfactants aid the process. Niapads contain Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). Research articles tout the efficacy of Niacinamide in treating acne and its superiority over antibiotics such as Clindamycin. Any yes – there are no antibiotics side-effects.

Niapads also has skin friendly emollients and Lavender Oil. These emollients prevent skin drying and cracking. Lavender oil has skin friendly, antibacterial properties and provides a mild fragrance.

Niapads comes in pack of 30 pads and is easy to carry around. No spill or mess. Any yes – keep acne away!

=”article_text”>

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is the discoloration, in the obtain of red marks or brown marks, that remains on the skin after the acne subsides.

According to Healy and Simpson from the Department of Dermatology at the University of Newcastle, “acne is as common as it was 20 years ago but is now less severe in teenagers and affects more people in their 20s and 30s, who have high expectation of treatment.” The prevalence factor and the transition from the teens toward the slightly older generation are both significant because millions of people of all ages are left with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation as their skin attempts to heal from the inflammatory lesions.

Several beauty products, medications, and home remedies have shown moderate efficacy in treating post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The most popular choices in the United States and the rest of the world are outlined and discussed below.

Remedy Number One: Chemical Peels

Chemical peels have gained popularity over the recent years due to their economical and convenient uses. A chemical peel consists of applying several layers of acid to the hyperpigmented areas in order to take the top layer of the skin through a controlled burning mechanism. Addressing active acne lesions prior to starting any type of skin care procedure is absolutely necessary!

Glycolic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids–all examples of alpha hydroxy acids–are the three most recommended chemical peels.

Glycolic acid, both colorless and odorless, comes in concentrations varying from 10% to 80%. It is the most popular at-home peel due low risks and great penetrating ability. Before attempting a glycolic acid peel, a glycolic-based toner is recommended in order to prep the skin for the forthcoming peel. Following the prepping procedure, the glycolic peel is applied with a q-tip for two minutes. After the two minutes elapse, the solution is neutralized by applying baking soda or rinsing with water. The procedure may be repeated once every two weeks for maximum results; six treatments are usually enough for significant improvement of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Individuals who have no previous experience with glycolic peels are recommended to start with concentrations between 10% and 15%; more experienced peel users may find concentrations between 30% and 50% perfectly tolerable. After the skin adjusts to the procedure, higher concentrations are suggested and necessary in order to see improvement.

Lactic acid is the mildest alpha hydroxy allowing the users to start with 30% to 50% concentrations without adverse side-effects. Depending on the skin care kit, some peels reach with a pH-prepping solution that is applied accurate before the peel is performed. The blueprint for doing a lactic peel is similar to that of glycolic peel, except for longer duration of the application–usually lasting 3 to 7 minutes. Lactic peels are great for individuals with sensitive skin; however, due to mild nature, lactic acid peels are less effective compare to glycolic or trichloracetic peels.

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is the strongest of the three peels listed above. As a result, it is generally only conventional in concentrating ranging between 10% and 50% with 15% being the average. Generally, the recommended concentration depends on the skin tolerance as well as the depth of the hyperpigmented acne scars; furthermore, as the concentration of the peel increases, so does the strength of the peel. A small amount of the solution is placed on the toothpick and applied to the skin. Instead of honest letting the solution sit on the skin for few minutes, the peel is applied through a layering process where one rubs the toothpick over the affected areas for up to two minutes. TCA peel does not need to be neutralized; therefore, it is left on the skin and not rinsed out. The same procedure is repeated the next day for greater results. The following couple of days are marked by skin tightening and finally peeling where large layers of skin are removed. The new skin is a refreshing pink color depicting improved tone and texture.

Remedy Number Two: Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) can be purchased in most supermarkets, such as Walmart, and it has been recently advertised as a weight loss cure. However, many acne sufferers use apple cider vinegar to diminish stubborn acne marks–or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The application is simple: exercise a cotton ball to apply a solution of two parts water to two parts apple cider vinegar to the affected areas of the skin and rub for one to two minutes every morning and night.

As early as one week into the treatment, a noticeable reduction of pseudo acne scars should be noted. (Since post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks are not indented scars in a sense that they recede over time, they are often referred to as pseudo acne scars.)

Skin tightening and greater overall texture are the acquired results with this simple, yet effective Apple Cider Vinegar treatment.

Remedy Number Three: Lasers

N-lite, IPL, and Cooltouch lasers are among the more expensive treatment options for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation varying between $1,000.00 and $3,000.00 per procedure. Furthermore, compare to ablative lasers–which can cause potential scarring, additional hyperpigmentation, and permanent change of skin texture–non ablative lasers carry almost no risk.

N-lite laser therapy is an FDA approved, non ablative, yellow-light laser that claims to improve skin tone while destroying the acne causing bacteria in the process. The procedure generally lasts about 20 minutes and the pain is minimal. In order to see desired results, the treatment usually needs to be repeated.
IPL, or Intense Pulse Light treatment, is a white light, non ablative laser that interacts with fibroblasts and broken capillaries in the dermis in order to improve skin tone and texture. The downtime is minimal and the laser claims to stimulate collagen formation, thus further improving skin texture and hyperpigmentation.

Cooltouch laser is a grouping of cryogen spray and an Nd-Yag laser, which similarly to IPL claims to induce collagen formation by stimulating fibroblasts. The procedure is very hastily, lasting about 15 minutes, and the recovery includes slight redness on the treated areas. The Cooltouch laser has controversial reviews with some people experiencing very little improvement or requiring multiple treatments over a prolonged period of time. Some patients become skeptical of the Cooltouch laser due to lack of the immediate improvement as collagen formation can take up two months.

Remedy Number Four: Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone is a topical treatment in a gel or cream form used for hyperpigmentation.

It is generally advised for patients suffering from hyperpigmented areas such as age spots, cholasma, melasma, and freckles, and those whose spots or marks are brown versus red in color. For this reason, a wide group of acne sufferers with red marks from acne do not see grand improvement with hydroquinone.

Those who are willing to try hydroquinone for their post-inflammation hyperpigmentation need to be aware of the potential side effects, i.e., burning, itching, redness, stinging and those more serious such as an allergic reaction or a rash. Furthermore, some countries have banned the spend of hydroquinone due to the potential link to certain types of cancers.

Exposing the skin to sunlight while using the medication will lead to additional darkening of the skin, thus counteracting the potential benefits.

Remedy Number Five: Alpha Hydroxy and Beta Hydroxy Acid Products

Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) are lipid soluble, i.e., salicylic acid. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are water soluble and include five groups: glycolic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid, and citric acid.

While the first part of the article refers to alpha hydroxy peels specifically, this section pertains to their use in over-the-counter, skin care products such as creams, gels, toners, and more recently foundations to address hyperpigmentation.

Popular AHA products for hyperpigmentation include HumiNature Aha! Face Toner, Skin Medica Rejuvenative Toner, SkinCeuticals Equalizing Toner, Rejuvenating Lotion-15% AHA by Refinity, Alpha Hydrox AHA Enhanced Lotion, and Alpha Hydrox AHA Souffle 12% Glycolic AHA.

Alternatively, BHA is found in products such as Cellex-C Betaplex Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Benev Salicylic Acid Exfoliator 2%, and Bliss See Spots Bustle.

Most of the skin care products mentioned in this piece can be purchased on a website such as www.shopzilla.com.

Since alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids function by removing the epidermal (top) layer of the skin, they have the ability to improve skin tone and texture. Significantly, the level of improvement is generally lower than with the more effective chemical peels.

Final Thoughts

Treating post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation requires dedication, research, and general skin care knowledge. Unsurprisingly, beauty doesn’t come without a price, but in this case the emotional pain from damaging the skin is a considerable greater price than the actual monetary value of the products involved.

After 15 years of searching, trying product after product, going for expensive facials, wasting thousands of dollars… I stumbled upon this item in an Ebay search for salicylic acid acne products. I’ve now been able to stop using all other anti-acne gels & lotions thanks to this discovery!

While searching online for answers about getting rid of acne, I’ve seen numerous blogs about the thousands of people out there suffering from this affliction. Websites out there suggest some bizarre cures – everything from eating nothing but apples for five days, to pouring lemon juice on your face. For people who suffer from acne, no cure sounds too far fetched if it has a chance of helping.

Let me give you a little background on my skin nightmare, maybe you can relate:

Having incredibly oily skin that is prone to cystic acne breakouts, I was starting to feel like I would be stuck with acne forever. Since age 15 I’ve literally tried hundreds of supermarket and high-end products some with Benzoyl Peroxide (including ProActive), some with 2% salicylic acid, some with tea tree oil or other natural ingredients that promise to clear acne, & even Retin-A (with horrible results!).

After the dermatologist prescribed the Retin A (and it caused my skin to be rough and scaly, while causing even more breakouts) I successfully tried a 6 month course of Accutane when I was 20 and – it kept me breakout free for several years. I only wish I would’ve used Accutane when I was 16, before all the acne scarring occurred. I’m now 31, and had considered getting wait on on Accutane because of so many recent breakouts. Because of it’s negative effects upon the liver, I’d decided to try more topical products before starting Accutane again.

After visiting an aesthecian for weekly Glycolic Facials last year, I discovered the magic of Salicylic Acid. After each facial, she would dab a high concentration of it on the tops of my breakouts. By the next day, they would almost be gone. I’d asked her if I could buy some, but she said it was only available in high concentrations to doctors or by prescription. Instead she gave me a 4% Benzoyl Peroxide gel which did absolutely nothing & made my skin even oilier. I decided to start my own search online and discovered a pure salicylic acid powder called Boost on a website called Queen Bee Sauce. You can add this potent high concentration powder to any face product (I liked to add it to Clean & Clear Persa-Gel). It worked very well, but mixing was kind of a bother & I was still getting a few breakouts. I aloof use it to add to face masks – the extra salicylic acid provides a great ‘boost’ for cleaning pores and drying up acne. Finding this product led me to search for liquid Salicylic Acid, whereupon I found Acne Terminate on Ebay.

The difference in my skin has been amazing after using this product! Acne stop is a liquid product containing 10% Salicylic Acid and 5% Lactic Acid. I’ve used products containing both of these ingredients in lower amounts, both of which were somewhat effective, but together & in the higher percentages, they work wonderfully! Perhaps they work even better in a liquid form (rather than a gel or lotion form) because in liquid form the ingredients can sink deeper into the pores.

Here is what the website www.theoriginalskinstore.com says about the product:

“This 10% Salicylic acid/5% Lactic acid treatment treats current outbreaks, clears out pores, prevents future outbreaks and refines the skin texture to improve existing scars caused by acne. As an added bonus, it will reduce oil production on the skin, a blessing to those of you who suffer from oily skin. Sound too good to be true? I promise you, it’s for steady and you will be amazed by the way your skin looks after just a couple of treatments with this powerful solution. This is a great product for those who do not respond to benzoyl peroxide products like Proactive.”

Here are some of my personal usage tips for you – this is the full cleansing/treatment system I’ve found to be most effective.

Upon initial use of this product, I’d suggest impartial dabbing it on the very center of breakouts after thoroughly washing & drying your face, once in the morning & once in the evening. I like to use St Ives Exfoliating Apricot Scrub and then University Medical Acne Free 24/7 Foaming Wash – both about 5.00 at your local drug store.

The instructions that come with Acne Stop say to place it on a cotton pad and apply to your entire face. I tried this the first time I used it & it felt like my face was going to catch on fire! I have VERY oily skin that is highly tolerant of scrubs and salicylic acid & even I couldn’t handle using this product on my entire face. I immediately splashed my face with cool water & dried with a towel. The stinging stayed for about 10 minutes, but let me tell you, the immediate results were worth it! I looked in the mirror and many of my clogged pores had a different view to them – I could actually see the dirt sitting in the pore & see that the pores were open. I took advantage of this & began squeezing the dirt out – I got so much gunk out of my pores, it was amazing! After working on this for about 10 minutes, I washed again with the Acne Free Foaming Wash, dried my face & applied very small amounts of the Acne Stop objective to the tips of my blemishes, using a Q-tip. I then applied Biore Oil Absorbing Moisturizer (which I just found out has been discontinued *gasp!*). It’s important to use your regular moisturizer after allowing the Acne Terminate to dry (about 30 seconds), otherwise the Acne Stop can be much too drying for your skin – even if your skin is super oily.

I’ve been using Acne cessation for 6 months now & my breakouts have almost completely disappeared. My skin has become more tolerant to it & I can now use it on my entire face without the burning reaction I first felt. I only do that about once a week, otherwise it’s a little too drying. Now, at the first sign of a blemish, I dab some of this on with my finger or a Q-tip. For the cystic acne – if I feel an especially big, deep blemish coming on, I use a cotton pad to really saturate the blemish, especially before bed time since that’s when skin does the most healing. I’ve found that the skin on my cheeks and the side of my face is far less prone to peeling than areas around my nose, chin & lower forehead. On the areas that peel more, I consume extra moisturizer to combat dryness.

The only negative aspect of the Acne Stop is that it can be very drying if primitive more than two or three times a day & can cause excessive peeling around the blemish. However, this can be combated by using a good exfoliant morning and night (St Ives Apricot Scrub) and moisturizer (I also like Nivea Cream), and exfoliating body gloves help as well. Use the gloves (found at local drug stores in the bath product section) with your favorite cleanser to help grasp the dry skin. It’s critical to exfoliate daily when you have acne or oily skin, otherwise oil and dead skin pile up to clog pores. I’ve been told that a “no scrub” reach and gentle cleansers should be used to combat acne, but that is a lie! I tried this method in the past and was left with impacted pores and the worst breakouts ever.

If you find that your skin is getting too dry from Acne Stop, an sterling gentle moisturizer is Nivea Cream. This is great for those extra-peely spots that don’t respond to your normal or oil free moisturizers. Also, once a week I use Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Scrub because it removes any dry humdrum skin that may have been left behind after regular daily cleansing.

With a minute patience and persistence, I hope you’ll also find that Acne Cessation works for you. I was a bit unfortunate at first by the over-drying and peeling, but once your skin adjusts, the results are definitely worth the extra time it takes to exfoliate and moisturize. My weekly break-out count is down to about 5 (very tiny breakouts) when previously I was getting about 10 -15 vast painful breakouts weekly, inspite of using a plethora of anti-acne products. I am about to order more of this miracle product and am eternally grateful to the New Skin company for creating it!

Pimples, zits and acne are no longer an embarrassing rite of passage reserved for teenagers. In fact, According to a 2008 represent published by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, “Acne continues to be a common skin scrape past the teenaged years, in all age groups 20 years or older.”

For people wishing to get rid of pimples on the back and chest, there is hope. Following a few simple steps and lifestyle changes, you can banish the bumps, decrease your odds of unsightly flare-ups and remain blemish free.

Rid your back of common pimple triggers.

Just like your face, your aid requires special attention. Fight “bacne”, or acne of the support, with a daily cleansing of soap and water. For a natural bacne remedy, exfoliate dead skin cells three times a week using Dead Sea salt. Apply a gel-based gain of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to your benefit daily.

Avoid stress to lop your acne breakouts.

Clean skin with noncomedogenic or oil-free products.

Although oil-free products contain miniscule amounts of oil, these products are the best solution to fight frequent breakouts. If you have severe back and chest acne, a beta-hydroxy cleanser is recommended by dermatologists to fight pimples.

Resist using astringents, masks and strong facial cleansers to rid your body of acne. These products may irritate your sensitive skin and result in more breakouts.

Avoid common products that may cause pimples on and chest.

Suncreens, alcohol-rich styling products and greasy moisturizers may clog pores and aggravate acne. Choose products that have a large volume of water or are “noncomedogenic.”

If your skin is oily, avoid cosmetics, cleansers and creams containing mineral and lanolin oils. If you use sunscreen to protect your skin during sunbathing, purchase products that are acne-sensitive and allow your pores to breathe.

A few more tips to get rid of befriend and chest acne:

1- Women must change their makeup regularly to prevent an outbreak of pimples. Avoid foundations, concealers and moisturizers that contain oil.

2 – No picking of your pimples, please. Picking your acne can cause acne scarring or an infection.

3- In the summer months avoid tight clothing and synthetic garments. Resolve linen, silk, cotton and natural fibers to allow your skin to breathe. Dirt, oils and sweat trapped in synthetic clothing can intensify acne on your chest and back.

After spending time and money on beauty products, I may not be prettier but I’m certainly wiser!

=”article_text”>

I love beauty products. No, I mean I LOVE beauty products!! Creams, lotions, herbs, gadgets – miracle solutions one and all! It seems the only requirement to pique my curiousity with a beauty product is to be something that I have never tried. The only time I will NOT believe that a product can do what it promises, is if I have bought it, tried it and have to admit for myself that the results were less than promised. As a result, I have cabinets, boxes, drawers, closets that are “holding areas” for products that didn’t deliver. My husband says that I am a “snake-oil salesman’s best dream” – I impartial want to know where I can get some snake-oil!

Anyhoo, in order that all of this hard-gained data does not go to waste (along with some of my hard-gained cash!) I thought that I would fraction some of my real life beauty product wisdom with the masses. And, as an extra-bonus gift, I’m not going to try to sell YOU anything. Have you noticed that a lot of “consumer review” sites are actually promoting or flat-out selling the product that just happens to have the highest review. Yeah, okay, even I won’t fall for that. So, this is just my unbiased experience with a product that I am not selling or promoting. I’m thinking of doing a series of “I love beauty products” articles – and there is no downline referral required!

The LightStim Anti-aging Photo-rejuevenation Light. Whew, that’s a mouthful and it comes with a mouthful of promises, too. It promises to energize your cells into better activity, promote your skin’s own natural rejuvenation process and help increase ATP, collagen and elastin production in your skin. Clears acne and rosacea, smooths wrinkles, reduces scarring, tones and tightens skin. They even have a video from the Discovery channel. A young man was in a abominable motorcycle accident that left him with severe facial scars and impairments. His doctor began giving him treatments with the LightStim and after several weeks he was able to move his mouth muscles again and the healing of the scars was accelerated. Pretty extraordinary stuff!
The science is all laid out on their website, complete with layman’s hype and scientific jargon most of us will never understand. It looks like serious research and data. The before and after pictures are very impressive. It can be former on other areas of your body. There are testimonials about relief from aching joints and old injuries. Needless to say, I was sold. I mean, come on, the Discovery channel?! Two hundred dollars did not seem like too noteworthy to pay for this incredible, healing science (opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of my husband!)

The basic belief is that the body needs light but that sunlight comes packed with harmful rays as well as the good ones. The LightStim only supplies the good rays. Broad. I’m ready.

So, I get my LightStim and I devotedly, assisduously, religiously follow the directions. Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 – collected me. Week 4, I’m starting to get the defective remarks and giggles from my husband as I sit on the edge of the bed holding this light to my face. Nothing. THEN things get really interesting. My husband gets a pimple! Very conscious of such things, he tries the LightStim for the prescribed 30-40 seconds. In the morning, the pimple is gone without a trace. Without a trace, I tell you! Hmmm, me thinks, hmmm – could this be because my husband is white and I am black? Could this be because white skin is thinner than skin of color so the light would work quicker and more effectively? I email the company with this question. It is not something that they have done research on. They want me to retain trying the product, let them know my results and they will look into the specific data of skin types. DUH!! Can anyone say OVERSIGHT?! Anyway, that is how things stand now. I tried it nightly for another month, with no noticable results. My husband will use the LightStim for occaisonal outbreaks. I got bored with holding the light to my face with no results and now only think to get back to trying it but never actually do. Maybe I’ll sell it on ebay.

=”article_text”>

Vitamin B5 is the best solution to the common acne scrape available today.

For many years companies have been selling the myth that you can clear acne by using topical medications even though everyone who has ever tried them knows they don’t work. That’s the power of advertising. That’s the power of buying a celebrity endorsement from Jessica Simpson. These companies have a huge vested interest in not letting the truth come out about Vitamin B5. Vitamin B5 is an inexpensive, natural, safe way to truly cure acne.

Vitamin B5 has no side effects unlike Accutane. Accutane as you may know is a prescription acne medication and is actually the only treatment that is known to be stronger than Vitamin B5. The negatives with Accutane is that it has a lot of negative side effects, it’s expensive, and it requires a prescription. Many times Accutane will only be given to people with a very strong case of acne so if you have mild acne then you may not be able to get a prescription for accutane.

Read more about Vitamin B5 here.

Vitamin B5 requires no prescription and has no negative side effects. It does have some determined side effects like more energy. And it’s not the type of energy you earn from diet pills – it’s a proper natural feeling energy.

I cannot recommend Vitamin B5 any higher for curing your acne. It is the best solution. It worked for me and I truly believe it will work for most people.

I especially recommend Vitamin B5 for those that have oily skin as their is some evidence that Vitamin B5 works especially well for those with oily skin.

PURCHASE VITAMIN B5

Buy vitamin B5 today. You will be very happy with your purchase and your original determined skin.

More than eighty percent of individuals earn some form of acne between the ages of twelve and twenty four. Acne is a skin disorder that results from clogged hair follicles, resulting in pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, and sometimes cysts. Acne is not a life threatening condition, but try telling that to the millions of teenage boys and girls it affects. The emotional stress and trauma that acne can bring is a serious issue among today’s image conscious youth.

Contrary to the approved plan, acne has nothing to do with the consumption of such foods as chocolate, peanut butter, or nuts. Acne is caused when a hair follicle, a shrimp canal that contains a hair and an oil gland, becomes gummed up with too much oil and debris, such as insensible skin cells. There are three things that play a role in the formation of acne. Producing too much oil, known as sebum, from the sebaceous glands is one. Shedding of stupid skin cells and a buildup of bacteria are the others. Each follicle is associated with one of these limited oil glands, which create the oil that is used to lubricate your skin and hair. The sebum usually finds it way up the hair shafts and out through the opening of the follicle tube onto the skin, but when too much oil is manufactured, it can solidify and the follicle can be plugged, creating acne. Dust particles and insensible skin cells collect on the sebum, and a plugged pore can be the result.

Whiteheads are white bumps caused by the collection of oil and skin cells in a follicle. Whiteheads contain pus, and can turn into a more serious matter if the inflammation that is caused by the buildup goes into the sebaceous gland itself, forming a cystic mass that can be quite painful and leave a scar. Blackheads are caused by the blockage of pores, but the skin debris in them has pigment that gives then their darkened color. Pimples arise from blocked and plugged hair follicles that have become infected with bacteria or inflamed; they are raised red spots with a white center. Acne can occur on your face, head, shoulders, back, neck, and chest; wherever you have the highest concentration of the oil producing glands is a potential station for acne.

It is known that hormonal changes in your body can cause acne to flare up, making teenagers, women and girls before their periods, pregnant woman, and individuals on certain medications most liable to develop the condition. Acne can leave scarring in very serious cases, and it can also have a profound effect mentally on anyone with a bad case of it, leaving them shy to be seen in public, causing vulgar self-esteem and a lack of confidence, making them social outcasts. Treatment for acne focuses on reducing the production of oil from the glands in the follicles, battling bacterial infections, and making skin cell turnover more rapid so that the condition clears up faster.

There are acne lotions available on the market that can dry up the oil, destroy bacteria, and get rid of the dead skin cells that clog pores. Most of these readily available remedies can control the milder instances of acne, with prescription lotions necessary to employ for more severe acne cases. Often, more than one lotion or topical ointment can be mature to fight acne at the same time. Antibiotics can also be utilized against acne, as they can stop inflammation and kill bacteria. Isotretinoin is a powerful antibiotic brought into play in only the worst cases of acne, capable of great side effects and not to be taken by pregnant women. Cosmetic surgery is available to lessen the effects left behind by acne.

To try to prevent acne from occurring, wash your dilemma areas with a mild cleanser, as facial scrubs, astringents, and similar products can irritate the skin and make acne worse. Too much washing can also have that same undesired effect. Use over-the-counter products containing benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, or salicylic acid as their active ingredient to try to dry out oily regions of your skin. These can also hurry up the peeling process. Do not use oily or greasy cosmetics, hair products or sunscreens. Be aware that objects such as the receiver of a telephone can be full of bacteria, and when it touches your face it could help to promote acne growth. Do not pick or squeeze your pimples. Allow them to clear up on their own, because picking at them can get them infected, making things worse rather than better. See a doctor or a dermatologist if acne is getting the better of you. Acne goes away as most people get older, but while they are dealing with it, acne can cause depression. Be sensitive to the emotional needs of those battling acne, as it can be a stressful time in their lives.

Acne can cause a person embarrassment, depression, and stress. Many cases are more severe than others. Acne has different levels of severity, but the most severe cases include cysts that can rupture and cause horrible scarring to occur. Many acne scar sufferers have bad psychological effects. Acne can cause a damper on a person’s social and love life. Acne may not be life threatening, but if the psychological scrape is severe enough then in some situations it could be life threatening depending of the severity of the individual’s depression. Acne can also disfigure the skin due to the scarring. This situation can take years of treatment to fix and in some cases cannot be fixed.
Search for acne treatment and you get bombarded with ads, reviews and comments from thousands of sites. So how does one choose the treatment that is honest for you?

What is acne? Beneath all the mumbo-gumbo, it is an infection caused by bacteria. It is a rite of passage into adolescence and practically all teenagers are afflicted by this. Changing hormones, increased gland secretion and clogging of pores by secretions, dull skin cells make the site ideal for the bacteria to grow and thrive. As it spreads, the surrounding areas collect infected and you have the beginnings of widespread affliction.

So what can one do to end, prevent or minimize acne? Follow basic hygiene and keep your hands, face, cosmetic applicators, and towels free from contamination. Change them frequently. Sharing your makeup paraphernalia is not a good practice. It is one more source for spreading the bacteria.

Follow a simple, easy to follow routine for preventing acne. Complex routines lead to non-compliance, breakdown in treatment and major reoccurrence of acne. Keep it simple and you will have better results. Pore cleansing and skin exfoliation is significant part of the regimen.

Lavender oil has skin friendly, antibacterial properties and provides a peaceful fragrance.

Niapads comes in pack of 30 pads and is easy to carry around. No spill or mess. Any yes – keep acne away!
